    Rotel mains power connection

Does anyone know why Rotel has a two wire mains power connection and does not use a ground wire? It would seem to me that a grounded chasse would be better. I hook up my turntable to a provided ground connection but I am wondering how that works with only two wire mains.

I wondered the same thing after getting static shock.... possible due to the fact that most should be using a line cleaner/surge protector that would act as a ground thus preventing a ground loop scenario?

    Ordering my line cleaner ASAP

Not sure about 240v/ 50hz but here in the states if you go and open up you're homes main panel you will see that neutral is bonded to ground. As far as the static shock you get further confirms that they are grounded. Most static is - in polarity and seeks ground. Noise immunity can be had by not tying everything to a "common" ground.

          Dishsoap and water mix?

As an HT enthusiast, it sounds fine.

As a former carpeting store owners and installer, you'll find that it will make your carpet dirtier faster. The dishsoap will grab the dirt like the equipment is grabbing your static electricity!

I'd go for a bottle of Scotchgard anti-static that you use on upholstery. It will work pretty well for carpets as well.

You can always purchase a humidifier, just another option to consider.

I've got the worst ground-loop noise thanks to my DishTV HD receiver... and I've tried almost everything I can to fix it. I'm *confident* it's from the Dish Receiver - as soon as I unplug the coax, the noise goes completely away.

                  Here's what I've done:

Last week I got an integrated amplifier (Bel Canto e.One S300i) to power my 805S speakers. I hooked up the speakers, and I was very happy. But I had not connected my two PV1 subwoofers to the amp yet. I am now considering using the speaker-wire connections to hook up the PV1 with the Bel Canto. However,...

I have the unit hooked up to a Monster PowerCenter HTS-3500MkII which is plugged in to a grounded outlet with all of my other components. I then disconnected the other components leaving only this processor plugged in along...

                  Dear All,

Like many of you I had a ground loop problem caused by my cable TV connection. Via my dealer in India I was able to obtain a ground breaker (which he had imported from China). This ground isolator was based on breaking the ground connection using I believe windings much like...
