    2nd set of speakers from a RB-1070

Suggestions on running a second set of speakers from a RB-1070 amp that has only one set of binding posts. Better to get another amp for second set or a speaker switchbox?

Better to get another amp, speaker switchboxes tend to attenuate the sound.

    Just my quick thoughts,

Speakercraft and Monster have speaker selectors that have a defeatable resistor. Resistor off it just parrallel's the leads. Resistor on is impedence matched to 8ohms..

2nd Sub-out on 1098, any way to change??
        by Orange Peel
I just hooked up my other SVS in the bedroom, and I couldn't figure out how to get it setup for Zone2 operation. It sucks to have to use the main volume control to get the sub loud, and then you have the mains playing loud too, and the Zone2 speakers are independent and not as loud, PIA.

I am by no means a hi-fi/home theater equipment reviewing journalist. I live in the real world where kit is not delivered to my door from the distributor for the latest issue of hearmystuffissocool.com or hifioverthetopcostnooption magazine. I am a student using all my savings to buy bang-for-buck new,...

Since John regularly reads this place...

I used the ZDT's for a while (with the Vifa DQ25 tweeter) and liked their sound. But, as you may remember, living in a place with hardwood floors and walls didn't help the sound at all.

I did RTA measurements in room and found that...

        2 x RB1070 Bridged V's 1 x RB 1080 ?
        by bleeding ears
Hi again guys, looks like I am going to have some time on my hands waiting for my preamp to get fixed so now I am pondering my next purchase.

I am considering using 2 RB1070 amps bridged to power my front speakers.
That should produce about 330 wattts per channel.

        RB1070 V's RB1080 any diff
        by bleeding ears
        Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the difference soundwise between the RB1070 and the RB1080?

At nearly double the price, does the RB1080 sound any better than the RB1070? (RB1080 = $1600 V's RB1070 =$900) Thats recommended full retail prices in Australia.
