I am getting a static hiss in my 1075, As i have said previously I am not using the best cables. Howerver i am now wondering if it is not the amp it self making the hiss and not the pre or the cables.
It is somthing after reading threw the site i am pondering.
I do not belive i have a grounding issue, I am using a three prong plug and a pluging into a power cleaner.
I am notusing any coax imputs on the pre ither and mind you i never had a hiss before i started using the pre outs.
I am not the lukiest in buying hi/fi gear So with every time i get a peice i am increasingly suspect, even more when it is made in china,.
I do not have a mechanical buzz and the machine runs cold as ice,
These are klipsch speakers mind you so they are rather efficent.
The noise happens even at -99.5 db the lowest level my pre will go and you can hear this HISS sound from all 5 of my speakers, the Hiss does not increas as the volume increases as tested with a blank imput. I have had this amp for about a week now and have been running it alot, I enjoy the detail and punch it gives my system but i can not deal with this hiss issue when listening to low volume it drives me nuts.
When i unplug the pre from the amp and keep the speakers hooked up i do not hear a hiss from the amp, it is only when i have the pre hooked up and when the pre/ is putting out any sort of signal.
I am a tad worried that a simple cable swap will not solve this problem.
Ok that was a tad long winded just wanted to be sure i descibed my setup completly
I have a tivo, hdtv, cd/dvd, md, all plugged in to my pre/pre.
My pre is a yamie 2300, I am using tosslink for 3 or of 4 of the given items, all items are pluged into the same grounded power supply unit. even the antena and sat disk are double grounded threw this block. The cables running to the amp are less than 1 metter in length and are gold ended yeah they are not great but should not induce this much hiss i never had hiss issues with them in use with the yamie before when i used them to hook up a md and cd player.
I am just a nervous tekkie, I get paid to find problems and fix them before they blow up in my offices face, So yeah i am parrinoid a tad
Thanks for all the replys.
