    RT-02 Tuner

    Hello All,

I'm thinking about adding this tuner to my 1068. Anyone have any comments about this radio tuner? The "RDS" is what I like about this tuner.

I don't have that, I have the RT-1080 and it's a PHENOMINAL tuner. Best one I've had the pleasure of owning. I'll definitely be keeping that piece of equipment for a long long time. The stereo seperation on this thing is almost CD quality...as well as bringing in the stations as well, they come in with so much more dynamics than I have ever heard on a Tuner. Highly recommend it as a perfect match to the 1068.

I have an RT02 Tuner and I am very impressed.
I listen to classical and jazz and am very impressed with sound quality.
Not least because everyone always disparages radio ausio quality.
This is my first seperates tuner and I find it far superior to other equipment I have owned. I actually believe a good recording through the tuner sounds better than a bad recording through my 1072 cd player. If radio is important to you I would definitly recommend it. Oddly enough rock doesnt impress me through it. Not bad in any way, just not as amazing as classical and jazz usually sound. I will often listen to classical while reading the paper on Sunday morning and I find that I stop reading because the sound is so beautiful.
      Hope this is helpful

I got myself a NAD C422 for less than half the price of an RT-02 to match my 1068/1075 combo. Wanted an RT1080 but found it to be too expensive. Figured that if I'd be combining different looks anyway (RT-02 <=> 1068/1075) I might just aswell go a little further and get the NAD (HiFi Choice Feb 2004!)... Its colour is indeed different than the Rotel's (get the titanium, not the grey), but than again, its front panel is also rather simple, just like the Rotels .

Oh yeah, sound quality is amazing, especially compared to my Marantz reciever, plus I like the "blend function"... Anyway, check out this link: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...roduct_ID/1564

Looking at the price of the NAD C422, and doing the conversion rate, it isn't that much less than what I paid for the RT-1080...?? I think it converted to $235 and that's not much less than what I paid for the RT-1080...

Though I have to say, I like the looks of the RT-1080 better.

The 1080 retails for $499.. If you paid not much more than $235 for it you paid less than cost..

I don't know, I think I paid like $300 for it if I remember correctly...

which to me is just a little more than ~$235.

Besides, it's one heck of a tuner! :T

Last time I checked the RT-02 would have set me back €450 and the RT1080 was a bankbreaking €650 (FYI app. $850)! I got the NAD C422 for €220...

So PewterTA, please do let us now where you got that impresive RT1080 for just $300.

                    Cheers!
