    Hi sdecker,

I've been using the RSX-1067 since 4 months and it's awesome. :T I decided to get this device because I've been looking for a multi-channel amp which is not worse in stereo as my NAD C370 I used before. I compared it against some NAD Receivers, some Arcam Amps and a Rotel component solution (1066/1075).

In Stereo the RSX-1067 was able to control my speakers better and I got a clearer and more unhurried sound compared to my NAD Stereo amp. Haptics and handling was much better compared to the NAD and Arcam Receivers. Arcam was not so powerful and honest as the Rotel devices. So it was clear to me that it should be a rotel amp.

Compared to the 1066/1075 components (with latest firmware) the stereo sound was much clearer and it included 7 full functional channels compared to 5 (due to the restrictions of the 1075 amp). Compared to the 1068/1075 components I could not really hear any difference. OK, the RSX-1067 is less flexible but it includes a high quality tuner and 7 fully functional channels.

After hearing the RSX-1067 for nearly two months I noticed a slight humm in all speakers whose audibility was independant from the volume control and which could be heared when the music was out. I asked my dealer and he made Rotel to change the ground line inside the Receiver. After this change there was no longer any audible humm at all.

Now I'm really happy with this solution which in my opinion is ideal for multi channel music and home theater...

Hope these experiences are useful for your decision.

    Take care,

    Markus.

I'm also looking at the RSX-1067.

        Rotel's website says it does:

Dolby Digital, Dolby EX, Dolby Pro-Logic II, DTS, DTS ES, DTS ES Discrete, DTS Neo 6, HDCD

Does it not do Pro-Logic IIx?

        Thanks.

Yup, it does PLIIx no porblem.. It might have been like the 1068 and not initially shipped with PLIIx, they just have not have updated the website.

I also bought the 1067 few months ago, also using a 1075 for fronts & center, rear surrounds, bi-wire fronts & center with 1067 & the 2 center rear

i have had no problems, no hums, rattle, nothing,

              sound is absolutely incredible,

i did get to spend several hours listening to Krell, and Mcintosh, i think for dollar difference and all around listening Rotel was very much the most bang for bucks

              good luck

              Kurt

Would like to reply to this thread, as well as introduce myself. I've been following Club Rotel for the last several months, and I've learned a lot from everybody. Thanks, I do appreciate all the information!

I've had the 1067 for a couple of months now, and just have to say it is just one awsome machine. I have it hooked up to NHT 1.3's (vintage 1990) and just couldn't be happier. These little speakers have never sounded like they do now!

Some time ago, I bought the 1055 CD Player, my first offering of the Rotel line. I was impressed enough with this unit that when I got ready to spend more money for upgrade, the 1067 Surround was what I wanted to add to the mix, and it's the some of the best bucks I've spent, audio/system wise.

There were some initial problems with my 1067, cracking and popping, but working thorough my dealer here in St Louis, Rotel shipped a brand new unit which seems to be working perfectly for me so far. I've got about a hundred hours of run time on new Mr. RSX-1067, just breaking him in. I can't believe what I'm hearing so far, just pure golden...

Great support from my dealer, Great support from Rotel. What else can you ask for? The sound comes built-right-in and sure to please.

Wonderful stuff. I'm glad I'm here!
                Bob

Has anyone compared the 1075 to the 1085?
                      by sikoniko
I want to upgrade my amp to my surround speakers and I have been eyeing the 1075. I haven't demo'd it in my system yet, so I am unsure what kind of difference it will make. I was looking online, (forgive me, but I don't really follow Rotel) and noticed that they now have the 1085. I was wondering if...

What to Buy: Rotel RSX 1067 or 1075/1068 combo

Has anyone compared the big Rotel 1067 receiver to the 1068 preamp - paired with a 1075 power amp?

                      I'm trying to decide between:

                      RSX1067- $2100 - 7ch amp, tuner
                      RSP1068/1075 - $2500 - 5ch amp, no tuner

the Preamp features are pretty much the same...

Upon arrival, I have to say I had all the factory boxes (double boxed) with the NAD sealed tape across...
