Rotel RCD 1072 power up with remote?

I just purchased the rotel rcd 1072 cd player. I like its, finish and sound.
Is there anyway to power it up and down via remote, or to put it in some standby mode?
If not is it ok to leave on 24/7?
    Thanks

    Matt,

The RCD-1072 will turn on and off using the 12V trigger input (of your reciever or processor has one). Otherwise there is the front panel switch (which I never use) on the top left...

However there is no remote control On / Off command

      I use the 12V trigger -

I have my KAV-280p triggering my RB-1080 and my 1080 triggering my RCD-1072.

When I put the Krell into standby, it throws the other two into the same.

      Regards,
      Keith

I am running it directly into my melody tube amp, so no 12v triggers.
Is it ok to leave on 24/7?

Had to rescue this orphaned thread.
Yes, it is okay to leave it on 24/7 and, in fact, it is encouraged. Most hi-fi connoisseurs seem to advise leaving equipment powered on all the time (even while on vacation), as it means less wear and tear on the unit, and electronics sound better when they're warmed up. Most units (amps, even cd players) take hours to fully warm up (charge capacitors, etc), and some even profess to take days.
I leave mine on all the time, even though my girlfriend belives that I am contributing to global warming.

Does 12v trigger on rcd-1072 works with other brand such Denon or it has to be compatible other Rotel units?

            thanks.

Anything with a 12V out trigger should work. Just make sure it has the same pinout (ie, tip=+)... If you only have switched outlets in the back, a 12V power supply and a 1/8th" mono plug from from Radio Shack can accomplish the same thing..

                Kevin,
Do you know the model number of 12v power supply from Radio Shack?

                thanks.
