According to an e-mail I received from Integra Research's Product Manager, there are none. The video switching bandwidth is the same and all the surface mount components on the DSP board and updated programs in flash memory are identical. IOW, if you have sent iyour unit in for the upgrade, it comes back with the same hardware features and software capabilities as a newly manufactured one.
I had asked for specifications of the hardware that was replaced /added in the upgrade, but did not receive any details on that. Seems they just want us to know that the updated and newly manufactured units have met the THX Ultra 2 standards and incorporate DTS 96/24. The e-mail did state that licensing fees for those two items represented a significant portion of the upgrade cost.
As far as I am concerned the RDC-7 still sounds fabulous and I am not at all concerned that anything in it is in any way "substandard". But I would still be interested in more specific information just out of curiosity. However , I'm not so curious as to pop the lid open and poke around inside mine to find out. :>)
