    Expansion port uses

If you want to put in your $0.02 for future uses of the expansion port on the back of your Halo C1/C2, then you should call Parasound tech support and voice your opinion. I called to ask an unrelated question and when I brought it up he asked what I would like to see it used for. If you don't really care, then do me a favor and call up and request a firewire input and an HDMI input/output. :T

I agree, if Parasound fans express their desires, both by posting here in Club Parasound (which does make its way to Parasound reps, trust me) and calling Parasound's customer service, then we have a very good shot at seeing the features and equipment we want in the future. I would just politely remind everyone to be tactful when calling Parasound. If owners call up and just annoy them, we're not likely to get results. But if we just give some honest input and feedback, Parasound has demonstrated that they're very willing to listen and even desire it.

I second the firewire port. Firewire 400 or Firewire 800, it doesn't matter to me. Oh, and it would be extremely, EXTREMELY nice if the software for both the C1/C2 and the MX700 Remote Editor was compatible for Macintosh as well. Since, afterall, Mac was the one that invented the Firewire.

Ah yes, and as far as my personal input for the expansion port, I don't think any use would be BETTER than HDMI switching. Two inputs and one output at the very least, if not more inputs. The port itself may not allow for that much room, especially on the C2, and the back panel itself may have to be reconfigured to one degree or another, but there is plenty of real estate there to accommodate as long as the internal guts can allow the space.

Firewire would be nice too, but only after I get HDMI. And it would have to allow the passage of all digital audio signals, including SACD and DVD-A, with C1/2 upgrades to process such signals. I'd rather not use the 7.1 inputs.

          Parasound Wish List

This is a combination of the entries in the Wish List as started by smalone and my own wishes. Also I make a comparison to the Rotel 1098, which I also had before I got the C2.

The original wish list is here

          Please post other suggestions...

Parasound needs to move on HDMI input
          by Dr Plaid
I am a custom installer/system designer/programmer who has a C2/A52 that I got when I was with a custom shop in Los Angeles. I have been sitting around waiting for Parasound to do something with that expansion port on the back and it seems to me that it is perfect for a HDMI input.

          Flextronics :)
          by Scarp
For those who didn't know it: the Parasound C1 and C2 are made by a company called Flextronics in Finland. They make it to specifications of Parasound. However Flextronics also makes similar products for other companies. I came by some pics of a Classe pre/pro that has a very very familiar rear side....

This is kinda cool. The USB feature is really interesting--automatically converts to a digital audio file?
