    Flextronics :)

For those who didn't know it: the Parasound C1 and C2 are made by a company called Flextronics in Finland. They make it to specifications of Parasound. However Flextronics also makes similar products for other companies. I came by some pics of a Classe pre/pro that has a very very familiar rear side.

    Take a look at:

    Thats the Parasound C2.

Now take a look at the lower part of:

Hmm... look familiar? Yes its a Classe SSP60.
Apart from a few details (no expansion port, an XLR digital output, etc) they are very very similar.

Does anyone know of other products that are made by Flextronics?

So when people ask me what brand Parasound is, is the correct answer American (since their boxes even say Battery Street, San Francisco), or is the answer Finnish?

Its an american company that outsources development and production of their Pre/pro's to a Finnish company. Also their amps are produced in Asia.

Its not very uncommon for a company to do this. Its still at parasound specifications and wishes (and probably first design by parasound)

I see I see. Interesting, I didn't realize companies made their products using up to 3 different countries. Thanks Scarp!

          Outsourcing has become commonplace...
Patasound has been doing just that for the longest time...
Actually had contacts with people who worked on teh design of the engine of the AVC-2500...pretty neat too...

It's also known that the designer of the Amps was not very happy with what had been built initially (the 2205A and other amps of the family....Made in Taiwan...some cheap parts....that I removed ^_^ and replaced by better ones....)
          did it make a difference....Yes

          Enjoy the ride !
          ^_^
