What have people replaced the C3 with?

hi all, seeing as there is no C3 to replace my C2; what other options are there?

I am currently using a high end htpc as the source (LynxTWO-B) into my C2.

I love the sound but I really want some type of EQ.

It looks like the following could be good options....

1. ADA (this is expensive though)
2. Audyssey Equalizer and continue using analogue (LynxTWO-B & C2)
3. onkyo pr sc5507 (this is cheap but I am woried about loosing good quality 2CH)

Are there any other options?

Cameron- As we'll talk about in the other thread of mine that you referenced, I am **STILL** using my C1, with an HDMI 1.3 receiver as an outboard decoder, and it's doing just fine for me. The sound quality compromise I have with that is, I believe, very minimal. Now that HDMI 1.4 receivers are out there, they could do the exact same job without really losing any HDMI 1.4 features I can think of. The receiver would do all HDMI 1.4 decoding and feature duties, and your C2 would still do the fine audio work for 2 Channel and such. If you like that Onkyo you mention, you could add it on top of your C2, and use the strongest features of each unit, instead of being a replacement and sacrificing quality to get new features.

Bottom line, NO, you don't have to get rid of the C2 if you don't want to. There are options to just add onto it, such as an outboard decoder.
