What is a refurbished product ?

I have been looking for an Parasound Halo c2
would you clarify what is refurbished product ?
I that right that this kind of product had some faults and was sent back to the factory for repair and testing ?

Refurbished means that it was sent back to the manufacturer for inspection and repackaging.

You don't know the reason. It might just be that the customer did not want the unit, the customer did not understand how to use it (some people can't read the manual), the unit was incompatible, or it was defective (non functioning or scratched or missing accessories).

The reasons are many. When the manufacturer "refurbishes" a unit, they test and inspect it for any flaws and make sure that all accessiories are present. In most cases a refurbished unit comes in a brand new box with brand new manual and other accessories.

A refurbished unit should work like new. Sometimes a refurbished unit may have minor scratches that do not affect performance.

Refurbished is often referred to as "B-stock".

FWIW: A "refurbished" unit is sometimes a safer buy than a "demo" unit. "demo" usually means that someone else than the manufacturer has repackaged the unit. With the demo you can't be sure that it's working or complete with all accessories unless you know you can trust the dealer on this...
