    Important 5250 amp "Update"/Recall

This just came out on Parasound's website:

Parasound amplifiers deliver award-winning sound and build quality. Unmatched performance, proven reliable, and still winning “Best Of” years later.

Apparently, Parasound has noticed some New Classic 5250 amps overheating and failing when installed with improper installation. They're offering to "update" the amp... I don't see any details about what is being "updated".

Interestingly enough, they're offering this free of charge for all 5250 owners, "regardless of where it was purchased." So there should be no issues about authorized/non-authorized dealers.

    It's a link on Parasound's homepage, too.

...sorry, that's meant to say, "5250 amps overheating and failing when installed with improper VENTILATION."

... you all do ventilate your equipment racks properly, right?

Following up on this important thread, I sent my New Classic 5250 back in for the recall. Came back looking exactly the same. If I had been more adventurous before sending it in, I suppose I could have opened up the unit and taken internal before/after pictures.

No changes I can notice to performance or otherwise.
