How do you reset a Halo C2?

I was out of town when the wife tells me the front speakers are not working on my system. After trying to figure it out over the phone, I just said turn it off and don't use it until I got home to fix it.
I put a cd in and can go digital or analog into the Halo through two inputs I have set up for my CD player. Both play out of my rear speakers, not the front. If I put it in Stereo96, it comes out of the fronts????
I put in a DVD. All the front and center channel info is playing out of the rears???
I was thinking that maybe it needs a reset and it's just a glitch. I know I've read about this happening to someone on here. Any suggestions other than to reload the latest firmware?

Well, problem is solved. I turned the C2 off and then turned off the rear panel power switch. I then unpluged it for a few minutes. After reversing the above steps, I fired it up and it works fine again.
Anyone else run into this? This is the first time it's done this.

Hey, Randy... yeah, I'd have to ask which software you're using. The "front mains through rear surrounds" phenomenon was rare, but corrected through the latest software update.

My C2 just started that last month. Only once so far and the fix was the same.

I have the latest software as far as I know. How can you tell? It was a while ago when I updated it. Less than a year though.

Sure! Just follow the instructions in the top sticky thread here in the Club about current software versions. (basically press and hold the front panel power button when you turn the unit on)

                Randy,

I've seen this happening too. My conclusion was that the reason is bad power (spikes or very short outages).

A power regenerator with battery backup (such as PS Audio or APC) would probably provide a permanent solution to stop this kind of problem. Or, if you're on a budget, I think a standard computer UPS would work pretty well too. At least that's better than nothing...

If it starts to become a problem I will deal with it then. I like the APC units so I would start looking there. We will see.

                    Randy,

Have you noticed that PS Audio recently released a new generation of power conditioners (among which the Power Plant Premier)?

Unlike the old generation, the new ones weigh a LOT less and are more efficient - not much unlike the APC...

                        Rear Wave

The "rear wave" refers to the sound waves generated by the backside of the diaphragm of the loudspeaker driver. When the driver's voice coil moves back and forth in response to the electrical signal from the amplifier, it causes the diaphragm (cone or dome) to vibrate and produce sound waves both in front and behind the driver. The front wave is the sound that radiates forward and interacts directly with the listener, creating the desired sound output. However, the...

Where to put the port: Front or back?
                        by JonW
I was wondering about where a good port placement is- the front of the speaker or the rear? Most speakers use the rear. Some the front. A few the bottom.

Against front placement might be that having the port on the front baffle could make baffle diffraction effects a little crazy....

Of course this was inevitable after the rear projection DLP 1080p displays were announced. :T But the BIG question will be the FPTV unit pricing.

I was just wondering if anyone in this forum uses the B&W M1 speakers and uses them strictly as front height and rear height speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X codecs? If so, I would love to hear your experiences as how you enjoy the sound this way. I know in ceiling would...
