I'm very curious about the new P2 coming out soon. Is this preamp going to be like the Sony ES TA-P9000 that I have now? It has two sets of 5.1 inputs and a set of 5.1 bypass inputs. Something you could mate with your current prepro.
Or is it intended as only a preamp for multichannel music ala SACD and DVD-A?
There is a little blurb about it in the new issue of Stereophile. Here is basically what it says:
The P2 is like a 2 channel analog preamp that also has 2 sets of multichannel inputs and eight outputs. Price expected 1750.
From that description it sounds more like the latter to me.
