Trying to decide between a Halo C2 or AVM-30 for a pre/pro. Movies and music are equally important, need switching for component and hopeful future upgradeability for DVI/HDMI switching. I've heard wonderful things about the Halo line as well as Anthem. Anyone provide any insight? How is video switching for HD with the C2/C1? Does the C1 offer any advantages over the C2 sonically? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

No, they are identical. The only difference between the C1 and C2 is that the C1 has an LCD on the front and has three RGBHV inputs vs. two on the C2.Originally posted by zpkingfw

From a purely "musical" perspective I would still take the Halo over the AVM30. The one thing I noticed...which I'm surprised at, is that Anthem made no changes to the DSP and D/A converters from the AVM20. They are still using the 56367 and AK4382...which IMO, do not sound as good as the Halo's AK4393. That being said, the Anthem does have some appreciable features that others may consider more important. From what I recall, Brent carried both lines and he still prefered the sound of the Halo...even to the D1.Chris BComment
