Where to get 805's?

G'day,

I'm looking at getting a pair of B&W 805 speakers. In Australia these go for around AUD$4500 / pair. I might be going to the US soon, and one option is pick up a pair of 805's while I'm there. But I can't find any online retailers that stock the 805 and list its price.

So how much should I expect to pay for 805's in the US?

They list for $2,000 US a pair. The amount of the discount from that price depends on how well you deal.

Thanks for the info. US$2000 equates to about AUD$2800, which is significanlty cheaper than the local retail price of AUD$4500 (even after adding around AUD$800 for shipping and import duty).

Is there a "typical" discount? I mean, would most buyers typically expect to pay around US$1900 for these speakers, rather than the listed US$2000? Or are there some dealers that would refuse to budge from the list price?

10% discount is about the max. Some rare instances you can get more.
