HTM-1 Pictures of compatible furniture/mounting ideas

I have been trying to decide between the htm1 and the htm2...

The main issue is that I would need to spend a ton on a new tv stand (45" widescreen lcd) or buy a new TV and mount it on the wall in order to get the htm1 to fit comfortable on a stand with any other gear.

Almost any stand you can think of will accomodate ONLY the htm1 leaving no room for anything else.

I am curious how some of you folks managed this great speaker. Anyone that has compared the htm1 to htm2 in "small" center speaker mode and found a major difference?

I have my htm1 sitting on top of my tv. This is probably not an option for a lot of people though. I'm not sure what I will do in the future when I replace this tv. I have thought about the option of building a shelf for it if I went dlp, but if I went plasma, then it would sit on the a/v cabinet I would build...

I made a TNT Flexy table for my HTM2 (could've made one for an HTM1 too if I made it wider).
The great thing is that you can make it to suit your needs, and it remains adjustable (height) during it's entire lifespan.
If you don't like MDF shelves, you can also use marble or something else.
And if you don't like the threaded rods, there are solutions for that as well.
It just comes down to how creative and handy you are.
Other then that, there's no limit to the flexibility of this rack, hence the name
And it's ridiculously cheap, unless ofcourse you want to use exotic materials.

I simply installed a solid shelf unit in the wall above my set to accommodate the HTM2 (make sure you hit the studs in the wall). It was the only way, unless you dedicate the entire TV base to the center channel and get yet another rack system for everything else. Otherwise, a floor stand, but wives tend to disapprove. At least with the shelf unit, I can always replace it with a larger piece should I ever go up to the HTM1.

I definitely prefer the center channel speaker below the tv set. the speaker simply sounds better when it is at apporximately the same level as the main speakers (802's) in my case.

The ideal situation would be to simply have a decent custom shelf system built around htm1. I just don't know how much it would cost to build something that really looks good and matches with my red cherry 802's well. Not to mention, I don't know a good carpenter...

Most quality B&W dealers can recommend custom cabinet builders that they use. How about your dealer? Just expect it to cost you a ridiculous amount.

I just upgraded from HTM2. Didn´t recognise a vast difference in sound yet except with music.

My htm-1 cherry red that I just ordered to go with my 802's was just mailed today (ebay).

I finally took the plunge and went for the bigger speaker since I plan on having this set of speakers for at least 10 years, if not more.

For the time being I was considering simply building a very basic stand from scratch that will hold the speaker and my 45 inch rear projection tv above it. I like the center speaker to be just below the screen personally. I plan to slap a few pieces of decent wood together from Home Depot soon. I realized that making the shelf myself will allow me to make the least intrusive footprint.

The difference is in the fullness when stuff pans across the front. The htm2 is very thin when matched with anything other than the 805's.

The problem you may have though is that the htm1 is most likely still not a perfect match for 802's and up since the 802's have the mid seperated and isolated.

Once it breaks in, give it a week if it is new, put in a movie with a lot of surround sound. One movie I noticed it in was underworld off the top of my head. When action pans across the front sound stage, the htm2 was very thin in comparison.
