    Perfect amp for B&W CT8.4?

I would like to know what would be the perfect amp to drive the CT8.4's. I have 3 of them behind an AT screen. The MLP is at 4 meters. My current amps are the
Audiocontrol M9 and the AC Savoy G3 (7x200w, Class H).

When I started calibrating my system I took an SPL meter and tried to get 75db via pink noise. Before I could get 75db at MLP I had to adjust my pre-amp to +10db!!

Is this a sign that the amp is not powerful enough to drive the front speakers? I had no problem with the surrounds as they have a higher sensitivity.

I checked all the connections, nothing seemed wrongly connected so....does this mean I need more powerful amps for the CT8.4's.

    Any advise is welcome.

It is set to C. I tried to put it on B but that resulted in 2db increase.

I see when they use the CT8.4 in shows or events it is mainly connected to the Classe CT5300. Thats 300w per channel.

Maybe 200w is just not enough.

        MLP and the MC-1
        by Rob
        Hello,

Is there anyone runing MLP through their MC-1? I was told Lexicon is working on coming up with an adaptor plug or adaptor unit that will run into the 3 expanson ports on the back panel.
Has anyone heard of this or any other method?

        Thanks, Rob

Decoding DSD & MLP Digital Streams in Receivers/SSPs
        by vsarathy
As we are beginning to see Universal DVD players like the Denon 3910 which support transmission of digital content for both SACD & DVD-A (of course, with all the usual caveats about DTCP, CPPM etc.), I was wondering if people on this forum could collectively post a list of all receivers and surround...

I have a htpc setup to my Yamaha Rx-v863. I am connected through spdif.
I have a soundblaster live 5.1 card in the PC.
I have been reading about bit-perfect and I know that the soundblaster re samples at 48khz therefore true bit-perfect is not possible with this card.
        Is bit-perfect...

This weekend I was playing around with my system, creating an active 3 way + sub system using http://www.thuneau.com/ Frequency Allocator crossover program. I managed to get a nice configuration then I made a "mistake." I switched on the Arbitrator, which uses some form of magic to make...

Duelund meets Dunlavy (aka Duelund meets transient perfect)
        by Dennis H
I was sitting around today, wishing I was at RMAF with the gang, and doing my usual multitasking thing -- watching the ballgame on TV and fiddling around on the computer. I was thinking about the old Dunlavy speakers where he uses lots of drivers with 1st order acoustic crossovers to get so-called 'transient...
