800 series owners : what cd/dac are you using?

I am curious to find out what CD/DAC everyone is using with their 800 series (or looking at moving to), I've currently got the PS Audio DirectStream and Transport unit.

I chose this because of glowing reviews and the flexibility of moving away from CD to a digital music platform, but I still needed the easy disc player for WAF.

Recently Esoteric has updated their line of spinners "x" models, which look good too.

Does the Antelope have inbuilt volume control? Or do you have the Classe preamp too?

CP800 like DAC with mac mini like music server with aiff files, the oppo is the CD player but after I have used the CP800 I never come back to the oppo or CD's.

it has an inbuilt volume control and has two analogue inputs as well. I used to have a CP-800 and this sounds loads better, which really surprised me. I don't have the Rubidium clock which as about expensive as the DAC itself.

How does this compare to other DACs in this price range? I know based on reading about your findings that you rate it, just wasn't sure if it was in the context of it being on its own market having 8 channels?
