    B&W 802 series 2

    Hello,
    My first post here.
I recently picked up a pair of 802 series 2's, a pair of PCS8 subs, and a FCM8 for use as a center.
Love em. One of the bolts holding the mid cabinet has lost its plastic head.
I am making a metal replacement for it.
    Thanks, and this forum rocks.
    Srinath.

    Hey Srinath! Welcome!!!

Are you talking about the phase plug in the center of the mid range? Pictures when you finish would be nice!

Its the Mid cabinet to bass bin bolt. Its like 8" long and has a plastic V shaped head you can open with a coin.

      Thanks.
      Srinath.

It's in the back of the midrange head? I'm thinking that you are not removed the protective bolt when the speaker is moving from its facility.

This bolt is 8-9" long and is 8mm dia and it goes vertically if the speaker is placed like it is supposed to.
Its on top, running straight down. Its got a plastic head you can open with a quarter.
          Cool.

I'm not seeing what are you saying, this is the layout of the B&W802D and I think that you are talking the long stick that interconnect the midrange driver with the subjection bolt(#26 in the pict). it's that correct?

you will need to click to open the pdf file.

Guy you are mixing up the loudspeakers, he has the original shape 802 loudspeakers. Not the 802N or D's.

Look at a 802 S2 from the top.
That round thing behind the tweeter - is the plastic head of the bolt.
That plastic head is broken off in 1.
That part is not available ... of course why would anyone need a bolt ... yea, never mind that we stuck a plastic head on it and when you top the speaker ,you can break off that plastic.
                  Cool.

you will need to click to open the pdf file.
Page 5 in that link, and ots part #16 - lost the head.
I guess it is S3808 - Fixing bolt head.

I could buy it ... but then I like tinkering with it.

                    Cool.

                      Hi Folks,
                      Couple of questions
                      1. Is it possible to replace the existing tweeter on the 802(current model) with the signature tweeter? Or is it not possible cos of the different xover. Is it as straightforward as just taking it off and putting the new one in?
                      2. Is there any sonic...

                      802 Matrix Series 2
                      by cnaltaylor
I have a pair of 802 Matrix Series II speakers which I bought second-hand.

Since I have had the 802's I have noticed that the sound tends to become dull over time, lacking in emotion. I have on a couple of occasions removed the mid/tweeter pod and disconnected the connector. After gently...

                      Hi!

A friend of mine have bought a second-hand B&W HIGH-PASS ALIGNMENT FILTER for his B&W MATRIX 802 SERIES III, but he didn't received the manual within the packet. I saw a thread on Audiogon where someone posted this info:

                      Hi all,

I read an article in another forum ops: about the centre bullet for the FST unit on the 802 (also applies to 800 & 801).

This guy had changed the plastic bullet for the aluminium one fron the signature 800 and claimed it made a big difference to the sound....
