    B&W CC6 Center Speaker?

    Hi,
I'm new to the forum and i just bought a B&W CC6 and i turned it on and does anyone else think it sounds very muffled. I have heard other brand new B&W center speakers and they sound amazing..but my new to me CC6 voices sound very muffled. I have sony's SSF7000's and a basic SONY 5.1 surround system hooked up to the ssf7000(now a 7.1) plus now my CC6. But any suggestions, is my tweeter shot?

I have a 5.1 out of box Sony system. Replaced the center fill speaker out of the Sony system. Plus the two SSF7000's.

What amp are you connecting it to? If you only have a 5.1 sony system then how do you power 7 speakers?

Have you tried one of your other speakers as the center to test?

Yes, it sounds fine. Is the cc6 supposed to sound muffled, the voices? I have read elsewhere that people complaine about it being muffled and i have cc6 series 1.

The cc6 always sounded good to me, but.... they did have a problem blowing tweeters... maybe that could be an issue is when replacing the cc6 with another speaker the new speakers sounds fine.

Put your ear up to the tweeter while playing music to see if it's working. A center should be anything BUT muffled.

Did you hear the series 1 or 2?

I mean it sounds like its working but its not even up to my Sony's sound quality...

WELL I bit the bullet today and bought a new center. I had been considering it for awhile but just hadn't made up my mind.

Well anyway I bought a demo B&W Matrix HTM. I had originally planned on getting a B&W LCR but after listening to both along with a CC6 (my old center) I...

I'm sorry this is more of a placement question.
I have two DM601 up front but almost cieling height and ten foot apart.
The CC6 S2 is center and also close to cieling.
The reason is, they are on top of a large entertainment center and I'm sitting
                            ten foot back.

I hope I picked an appropriate forum to post this.

I need some advice with center channel speakers. What I’m looking for doesn’t seem to be available for any price. commercially or DIY.

First a little background. I have no experience designing or building speakers. I am...

I am looking to build a center speaker for my home theater system.

Right now I have an onkyo sr608 and the tritrix parts express kit speakers as the left and right mains. I also have some of those really tiny bose speakers as surrounds. (sort piecing the system together from parts ive...

                            Hi guys,
I've had my B&W system for about 4 years now, but I've been home off and on for that long of a time. Now that I will be stationary for a while, I would like to start upgrading my system.

I have a CC6 s2 center, and it just doesn't cut it. I use my system...
