and now i want rear speakers
i want to take or the 686 or inwall speaker
which inwall speaker will match the series
and is there is disadvantage when i'm taking inwall speakers

Who me? Yea, I have the 804S and also the 685's.... But since I've been getting back into straight up 2-channel, I've got the 802D or 802Di in the back of my mind....

Sounds like the beginning of upgrade fever for you emig5m...i auditioned the 802Di's and they were fantastic...the bass response was amazing. Maybe you can work something out with Pio for his 802D's...

I guess winter time has you inside more. I thought you were selling your 804s to go back to 683, so that you could consentrate on outdoor water sports. Now, you're looking at an expensive upgrade? Funny, how this bug bites you when it's cold.

Yup... This summer went by so quick and now that I'm back indoors I've been using my system A LOT! I've probably done more 2-channel listening this past month than I can remember doing in a long time. I would probably have to go back 17 years or so... I would like to get a more punchier B&W for just straight 2-channel (no subwoofer). My 804S are great and I can even hear a 25hz test tone, but I'm looking for more tactile 'punch & weight' behind the 'sound' if you know what I mean.

I'm trying to convince two of my friends that are in awe over the sound of my system that you can get into true hi-fi with just the little 685's on a small budget. They just don't want to believe that great sound can come from something so physically small. When I first heard B&W it was the N801's. Went into their lower-end room afterwards and heard whatever the 685 equivalent bookshelf was at that time and I was honestly more initially impressed with the bookshelf than the 801 because I expected the 801 to be great but I didn't expect a little bookshelf to throw out that kinda sound that it did! I actually walked around the room and put my ear to each sub to make sure that a sub wasn't helping them along! With a good sub, the main thing you'd really be missing now is the more openness of the FST midranges... Well a little SPL (had to drop my sub 2 to 3 dB from the 683's to get a SPL match to the 685) and smaller soundstage but it aint' that far behind...
