B&W 685 users:Do you use bass control of your receiver/amplifier?

B&W 685 users,if you are using B&W 685s as stereo without subwoofer,do you use bass control(or something like "Sound Retriever" function) of your receiver/amplifier to have more bass for music?

I use 685's in my office - stereo w/o sub(s) - I dont use any bass enhancer because the speakers are pretty close to a wall and that reinforces the bass.

I'm running them with the foam rings but without the smaller center piece and the speakers sound pretty amazing in the bass.
Stereo: Revel F208, Parasound JC2, JC1's, Oppo HA-1, VPI, Dynavector, Moon

    HT: B&W 802D2, 805S, HTM4, Marantz, OPPO BDP95, Velodyne DD-12's

HP / secondary system: Woo Audio W2, Carver Sunfire, Kef LS50, Denon, and too many headphones to list

Also some recordings need some flavoring since there's no standards for music recording and the sound of different music recordings is all over the place. I will use enhancements when needed regardless of speakers (Yes, I own the 685's along with the 804S's). Let your ears be the final judgement...

How much space should there be between two B&W 685s?
I think current space is about 3.0-3.5 m.

Also a question about vocals and B&W 685.I sometimes hear like vocals sound tiny(music is more dominant than vocals) and/or vocals are singing from a bit far away,is it cause...

          B&W 685 or CM1?
          by bruno
          Hi,
I was thinking of buying a pair of B&W 685, but when I went to the store the other day I saw that they had the CM1s on offer (down to 575 euros from 800), which makes them even a little bit cheaper then the 685.
My first thought was to grab the CM1s, being more beautiful and presumably...

May magnetic field of the B&W 685s give damage to dvd recorders?
          by AwArEnEsS
I have a problem which I haven't been able to solve yet.About two weeks ago,I put one of the B&W 685's on a shelf, very close to the dvd recorders and satellite receivers.685 was not connected to the receiver(amplificator). After a while in the same day,the satellite receiver started getting locked.Then...

          B&W 685 Review
          by jack667
          Hi guys,

As I have recently come back to B&W after 18 months with a pair of Monitor Audio GR20s, I thought I would share my review, "downgrading" to a speaker less than 3 times the price of the 20s!

          Upgrade from B&W 685. 703? CM5 S2.
          by Mark_89
          Hello,

as a long-time fan of B&W I have enjoyed my 68x-series theatre (fronts: 685, center: htm62, rear: 686 with a BK XXLS400 sub on a Marantz SR5003) for many years now. However, recently I have upgraded my job and now it's time for the speakers to follow suit. I absolutely love...
