I have decided on CM9's for my fronts, cmc2, for my center. Looking for the surrounds now. Haven't heard the ds3 but wonder if anyone has used them and how they would integrate with my system.

Ah the world of HT... Looking back now about 5 years ago or so, I was so happy with my Bryston BP20 Pre, Classe Model 70 amp and Mirage speakers with varied sources. Being brought into the world of HT and surround sound with all its marvels of showcasing the audio track of movies and concerts. One thing it did was to add to the confusion of what to purchase. IMHO this whole area of HT is a product manufactures and retailers dream. Confused consumers enter the "Lions den" looking for utopia. Now to preface, I just had hip surgery and still taking some "wonderful" pain medication while off of work .... point being ..... gives me alot of time to read through this blog some web sites and to listen/watch my collection of movies/music. Through the hundreds of entries, it is interesting to see the number of posts that have something to do with "I have x y and z and want to reach nirvana by buying a, what does everyone think? Before anyone gets in an uproar, I am just as guilty as the next, and I would not want to throw stones in my glass house. It is the beauty of HT with 5.1 plus channels of surround speakers and amplification not to mention all the cabling and sources that go with it. I am by no means jumping all over my friend on his/her question and i would presume trying to get info and opinions on the next purchase. Is there a place in HT where you can be justified in your position and stop or is this our "Crack" addiction of always wanting/needing more? To come back to your question, if these speakers are auditioned and you enjoy them and they fit into your room and make you happy then they work, no matter what someone on this board may say about your decision.

I have the DS3 S3 but all of my speakers are B & W 600 series so being able to match them to CM9's is not possible. But my impression of them as a surround speaker is I am quite happy with them. As KRC stated, one mans poison is another mans food.Last edited by sgtjim57; 14 October 2011, 15:49 Friday.Sony Bravia OLED A1E 55"

I'm trying to decide on whether I should purchase a pair of DS3's or CM1 S2's to complete my 7.1 home theater setup. I have all CM series speakers in my 5.1 setup currently. According to the Dolby site I see the surrounds would move to the sides of my couch(at ear level) and the...-

by videophilePlease help me decide on which surround speakers to get: DS3 or 685? I have B&W 683, HTM61, Velodyne CHT-12R, Rotel RSP-1066 and Rotel RMB-1075. [I'm sure the question can apply to DS7 vs. 705 and DS8 vs. 805]
I know that dipole speakers produce more diffused sound as compared to...-

by catesHello,
I am in need of help in choosing new surround speakers for my 5.1 HT setup. I currently have 601's as my rears however my better half does not find them very pleasing to the eye on stands behind the seating area. She is also not keen on mounting big black boxes on the walls either....-

by Speed3I'm replacing my Polk FXi5 Dipole/Bipole surrounds with B&W and I need some recommendations. I have 683's for fronts and a HTM61 for my center. I have heard the 685's already at work and they sound great but this was in a front stereo demonstration. Also they are pretty deep to be hanging on...-
