You could be right. 800-series are made in England and CM-series in somewhere else?

Plus, the 804Di is made with real wood veneers.

The CM series comes in real wood veneers in Wenge or Rosenut. Only the Gloss Black is not real wood veneer.

This is how misinformation is spread.

Where the CM series is assembled now has nothing to do with whether or not it uses wood. It uses wood and the source hasn't changed. I've had CM series made in England, and the color is slightly darker than the 804d Rosenut. Not by much. Also, over time, you have to take into consideration age and exposure to light and/or the sun. Fresh out of the box, they are virtually the same. As time goes on, the color settles and will change. Most people probably won't notice it as it is gradual. Also, if anyone remembers the N800 series speakers, 2 series ago - Rosenut had a reddish tinge to it. It definitely changed. It was a bit darker and redder.

We have to keep in mind that there is no such thing as "Rosenut" wood in the wild. It is a finish applied to different wood types that makes it resemble Rosewood, so color change and differences in appearance for "Rosenut" is to be expected. Real Rosewood is expensive and endangered. We wouldn't be able to afford speakers made of say, Brazilian Rosewood and there wouldn't be enough to supply the demand and volume of B&W. A wood similar to Rosewood is Cocobolo. Teres uses it for their turntables. Very nice wood.

Anyway, here are "Rosenut" shots of CM1 speakers made in England. We all know that this matters to some people.

A camera, passport, good music, good food and good company is all I need.

Hello all,my question is how much better are the new 804di's compared to the 803/804s line.I have an opportunity to purchase a display model 804di from a local dealer for 5800.00.I already sold my current cm9's in less than 24hrs no less so I am all in on this now.The 5800.00 price is still a lot for...

                CM9 or 805S as rears?
                by specialized
As u know i wanted to upgrade my rears to better match the front end (803s/HTM3S).

I planned to get 804s or maybe even 803s, but seem that there is no more at stock

My Option is 805s in different colour then my fronts, or CM9 in my colour (Rosenut).

Will Primare I30 be a good match for CM9?
                by exSG
                Hi,

Does anyone know whether the I30 would pair well with the cm9? I have heard the I21 with it and it sounded bright and under-powered.

Have just ordered a pair in rosenut without demo-ing it together. Always wanted a floor-stander after 2 pairs of book-shelf speakers....

                803di vs 804di
                by Chucka
I have been auditioning 804di and 803di's in a number of different dealers, with different rooms and electronics. My wife prefers the larger physical size of the 803's to better match the scale of the room and other items in the room but does not like to looks of the 802's. The system, which will...

New to B&W, demoed the CM9 yesterday. Impressions/questions

Upgradeitis recently took its toll on me and there is only one prescription for it - give in to the symptoms and UPGRADE!

My current system is no slouch, at least I don't think it is. Emotiva 8.3 towers for mains, 6.3 center and ERD-1's for my 2 surrounds. They are powered by an...
