Have you ever listened to B&W PV1?What do you think about it?I have read that they can go pretty deep, but I have doubts about its power and have read mixed reviews about it's "slam",what do you think about it's "slam, punchiness"(if you have listened to it or have owned it)?

If you would compare it with a B&W Asw610XP or Asw610,what is the difference between them? Also what do you think about Asw610 and Asw610Xp?

I own a PV1 and have put it through its paces.

Its not short on power that is for sure...500 watts from a class D amp. Too give you an idea of its power I had a neighbor two floors below me complain about it at my old place. IMO its the most musical and accurate sub I have ever heard for its size. It can "slam and Punch" when it needs to, but the reality is what other subs produce as slamming the PV1 will accurately reproduce the frequency and sound intended.

I will say for the price of a PV1 you may find something equal to or better as some of what you pay for is the look and name.

compared to a ASW 600 the PV1 is better in every possible way, i know because i owned one..

I have a little problem about understanding it clearly.Does Pv1 have good "slam/punch" or not?Your neighbor example made me think that it has powerful "slam/punch" but then the last sentence made me think it hasn't that much...Or are they different that neighbor feeling/hearing it and it's "slamming" you?

I have had subs that simply default to a thump because they did no have the ability to produce what the source intended. The PV1 never acts like this. If there is "slam" intended in the source, the PV1 will do with with flying colors.

        Does that answer your question?

If the ASW610 XP is spec at -6dB at 18Hz am I correct to assume that if I use two of them in a room it should be -3dB at 18Hz?

Also, what is the difference when powering dual voice coils with 200 watts each as opposed to powering a single voice coil with 400 watts?

            ASW610 Help
            by fhsun
Hello, I am trying to hook my new ASW610 sub to my system properly.

I am using an old Pioneer AVR with pre-outs as my pre/pro right now, hooked up to Rotel RMB 1075 and 683's.

Although having pre-outs for front, center, rear, the Pioneer does not have a pre-out for a sub....

How to configure two 685's with an ASW610?
            by hyperchaotic
            Hi All,

I'm coming from a setup with just two DALI 7a's before, no sub - and a straightforward old Marantz RS5000 amp :-)

Due to moving countries I lost that, so I went and got a nice (sounding) pair of 685's and my very thoughtful wife recently gifted me with a ASW610...

            Hi !
I have few ideas on tuning my speaker setup. I would like to get your opinion on them. Do you think it makes sense? Do you think it may help or not? If some ideas seem to be good for you but there is something you would like to add? This kind of feedback I'm counting on.
