    Buying Krell product from Canada

    I plan on buying a Krell Amp from Canada and have it shipped to California but I'm clueless about the duty and custom fee. The seller informed me that I don't have to pay for duty but I have to pay for custom brokerage fee. Could someone please educate me on this? Thanks in advance.

      I've had stuff shipped the other way around.

      I believe that brokerage fees are inevitable UPS being the worst for being so expensive. FEDEX is much better for their broker fees. Best if possible is Canada Post/USPS really cheep 5CAD is the their broker fee, but they only accept boxes below 60lb.

      If the amp is made in US or Canada then there should not be any duty to pay (NAFTA). If not then you will pay tax on whatever the insured amount is.

      I may be wrong but this is my understanding of the whole thing.
