integrated or pre/amp combo for 805s?

Hi, I am to the forum. Just purchased some used 805s and wondering what integrated to pair with. (would like to purchase used) I want to spend <$1500. Was thinking of integrateds from Creek, Roksan, Musical Fidelity, Cambridge Audio or Arcam. What about Peachtree Audio Nova/RB1070 combo? Thanks for your thoughts.

Not too familiar with those brands. If you streched your budget you could get this.

or the new rotel ra1520 sounds pretty good.

NAD also makes some nice integrateds in your budget that I think would pair nicely with the 805s .
          Main System:
          B&W 801D
          Emotiva USP-1 Pre-Amp
          Chord SPM-650 Stereo Amp
          Oppo BDP-105
          Squeezebox Touch

          Second System:
          B&W CM7
          Emotiva UMC-1
          Emotiva UPA-2
          Oppo BDP-83SE
          Grant Fidelity DAC-09

My vote goes for tubes. I own 804S with McIntosh MC275 and love it. A McIntosh MC2275 would be outstounding, but out of your price range. Getting an amp first and a pre later might be a way to incrementally get there without having to spend too much in the first one shot. This is how I'm evolving my system and I'm learning a lot as I go.

BTW, I would recommend against the 805S and Rotel RB1070. I had the 1080 with my 804S and it sounded brittle to me.

Try and audition the 805S with tubes at some dealer and decide for yourself.

USP-1 is greatly appraised. And I can vouch that their amps sounds fantastic!

I just picked up a pair of 805s for my second system (2 channel), currently I'm using a old Rotel 971 Mrk II integrated amp @ 60 watts per channel, as expected it doesn't have the depth. I am looking for suggestions for a pre/pro combo which will be adequate for 805s and not to hard on my wallet. ...

Hey guys, please help me out here since I have been having this dilemma on which to choose.

I currently have the Bowers and Wilkins CM 5 (B&W). I am doing only a stereo 2 channel setup. So I am considering separates and am stuck between these choices.

Awhile back I wrote about My experience with a Emotiva XPA-5 Amp thru a McIntosh MX135. Well I just bought a Yamaha 863 Reciever to do all the new codecs for the Movies side in my Home Theater. What I did was run the YAPO Auto calibrate function for SPL and EQ. Hooked up the Yammy to the emotiva thru...

I am upgrading my 704 with 805S for the computer room. They will be on the desk next to my screen (my desk is 10' wide, so I can optimize the placement). I need a pre/power combination, or integrated amp, stereo only, to drive these speakers properly AT LOW VOLUMES. I have a rotel 1068/1075 combo in...

Hello, i just picked up some brand new DM 601 S3"s and ordered a peachtree nova 80w per channel integrated from crutchfield. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the nova intergrated amp. This is for a second system in a 12x12x8 area. I think it should be fine. i already have 804S's and...
