If my memory serves me correctly, the HTM1D has rear firing bass ports. For the owners, of such a fine piece of equipment, could you please tell me how much space is required behind the speaker to not have an impact on the sound?

I have not purchased it yet. I am still doing some research. However, I will not be paying 9K for it. My dealer is ready to work out a pretty sweet deal for me.Originally posted by crytklmassDid you pay $9,000.00 for the HTM1d Center? OR did B&W offer a better deal.
BTW. Thanks everyone for responding and for providing pictures. I do appreciate all of the feedback. :T- Bottom

Hi all
I have had bad experience using the foams to close the rear reflex ports.
The speaker sounds more "at ease" without them in my opinion?
What do you guys have to say about this?
Take care

When it comes to using the foam plugs, every situation is different. I've found that they are needed in some systems and not in others. There was one customer that needed them for his 800 Series speakers (in a two channel system) until he upgraded amps. The smaller amp he had did not do a good job of controlling the bass and the speaker sounded better with the foam plugs in place. Once he upgraded his amp the total opposite happened.

by KahunaCanuckI have an opportunity to trade my HTM2D for the HTM1D...I hadn't really planned to do this for some time, but if I want to make this upgrade I either make this deal or wait and buy used later on, then sell mine. Being such a big brute, I am not sure I really want to do that.
So, my...-

by Andrew PrattI thought I'd post a quick overview of my impressions so far on the new Pinnacle K60 in-wall speakers that I got from our new forum sponsor NextLevelAV on friday. First I must say I've been VERY impressed with NextLevel's owner Jim and his attention to his customers. If this is any indication of how...-

by ShadowZAAssuming that your present front end speaker setup was: 802D (front left) - HTM2D (centre) - 802D (front right) and assuming further that the height and space factor was not an issue if you were to have an 802D for the centre, what would the best setup be from an audio quality perspective regarding...-
