How long does the Kevlar cone take to change colour?

The 803D and 805S I have on home demo right now are apparently 3/4 years old. The driver on the 803D is quite a goldish brown in most lighting conditions?

I will have to buy a new centre, and I am a touch concerned about a potential colour mismatch?

Is this something to worry about, or will they all resemble a similar tone in time, and if so how long?

I dont really want to spend X amount on different looking cherrywood and yellow vs goldy brown drivers?

My dealer thinks a new centre will settle down colour in 6 months or so?

Should I stop being such a big girl or is this something that would concern you too?

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated?

Put the grilles on to prevent the dusts and you will not notice the the color of the cones.

    Alternatively, dim the lights.

Enjoy the speakers for their intended purpose -- listen to them.

It takes about 6 months to settle. I also added a center, and a bright golden yellow driver! A few months later there's no difference to the others.

FST kevlar color difference between series?
          by nikos
i was checking out some 800D and 802D speakers over the weekend. different setups... and what was strikingly strange to me was that the FST kevlar color was very different than what I'm used to from my 803D and HTM2D.

The difference was that the 803D and HTM2D have a brighter yellow ...

          Question about a Kevlar cone
          by SQdude
A certain manufacture is famous for using yellow Kevlar cones with a totally flat surround housed in a sphere. I'm curious is the general break-up characteristic of Kevlar (what freq does this material fall apart at)? Also, with a flat surround, how much xmax do you really think they are getting out...

          Is Kevlar holding B&W back?
          by bigburner
I was talking to an ex-B&W owner today. He believes that these days there are better materials than Kevlar with which to build mid-range drivers, e.g. carbon fibre and modern plastics, but B&W can’t use these materials because Kevlar is now so integral to their brand.

Just passing this along to those who also like water borne finishes. They call it a laquer, it's not but it does "Burn in" to previous layers.:T
