Hard to tell. It is almost a sure bet that it is veneer. If you know or can find out the manufacturer of the speaker, the answer would most likely be found at their web site.
Off hand, I would guess Walnut. But with so many options available in veneers, I could easily be wrong. -

They did indeed come off of Ebay and I couldn't decide if they were walnut or teak. By the way Bill, this is a B&W forum isn't it???!!!Comment

So I built my Statements and I love them. I am going to veneer them this weekend so I ordered some Walnut Flat Cut Premium 10mil paperbacked veneer from Oakwood which I have been told has nice quality stuff.
