    Wall Mounting B&W 685

    Hi,

Has anybody tried to wall mount these speakers? Being as deep as they are, I imagine it could look rather weird. Pictures, anybody?

    thanks

    bruno,

Best thing I could think of is to install a shelf on a wall that these could sit on. I don't ever recall speakers that size being wall mounted.

I made some shelves quick.... They look crap because they where only suppose to be a temporary solution until I got proper wall mounts. This hasn't happened yet. I have my eyes on these though: http://www.btech-usa.com/bt77.html

I use to have my older B&W 600 S3 wall mounted. I used B-Tech B77 wall mounts and it worked really well. I always was scared of them falling, but it came out alright. I really liked it. If you're interested, I still have a pair in mint condition that has been in the box for forever.

              B Tech wall mounts

Have 601s mounted on these mounts.
I reversed the cradle that holds the speaker.
My reason was to put the center of gravity more squarely on or behind
the pivot point (gets the more of the speaker closer to the wall).
This allows you to tilt the speakers downward.
When stud mounted the mounts will let me hang from them.
              That is my confidence test.
              Nice looking and substantial.
Not sure if the adjusting bolt will have the length to hold a
              602. But I'm sure it can be done. Their weight is not an issue.
              Just my 2 cents.

                I found the pictures.
This is what my 600's had looked like on the wall mounts.

Kind of an old thread but I just mounted mine, not too crazy about the way it looks, but it's not terrible either:

Adam, that's a great looking room. You should post some pictures in the B&W Picture thread.

                      B&W 685 or CM1?
                      by bruno
                      Hi,
I was thinking of buying a pair of B&W 685, but when I went to the store the other day I saw that they had the CM1s on offer (down to 575 euros from 800), which makes them even a little bit cheaper then the 685.
My first thought was to grab the CM1s, being more beautiful and presumably...

I've been reading this forum about a month now and this is my 1st post. Lot's of great info and experiences! I've had my HT for a year and am ready to move into B&Ws. I'm looking for your experiences and recommendations.

I've heard the 685's and was very impressed. I heard them with...

                      Center Channel in Cabinet - B&W 685 or HTM62?
                      by dmiranda
                      I've had my setup for a couple of months with 2 x 685, 2 x M1 and an REL T5 Sub.

Now its time to buy the CC. I haven't auditioned any speaker but from what I've read common sense choices are the HTM62 or another 685.

There is one last variable to consider and is the space...

At last I bought a receiver and have listened to B&W 685 at my home yesterday. One of first things I noticed was that it was too boomy.First I thought I may like some boom, but after continuing to listen,I started thinking that it is too much boomy.

Is it cause the speakers are very...

                      Good, cheap, Wall-mounting MTM?
                      by NoDestiny
Got my mom a 40" LCD for Xmas. After hooking it up and giving it a quick calibration, the sound came out and was far from amazing. Needs something much, much better than stock TV speakers.

Problem is, the TV is to be wall-mounted on a mantle and only really gives the options for...
