    hissing sounds from left n803

noticed a slight hissing sound from left n803. preamp was off, but the power amp was on. CD, blu-ray player were all off. nothing from right speaker. do I have some wires loose, or is there a problem with my power amp? Thanks in advance.

also noticed some hissing sound with new panasonic bd35 blu-ray player, just a few seconds, then it went away. the player is connected to the pre-amp via optical. not sure if it relates to infamous 'DTS bomb' that some people are experiencing when their receiver don't have the right firmware to decode certain DTS-hd ma disc.

I have newly introduced a Samsung Bluray into the setup and had to redo some connections (HDMI usage) on the Rotel receiver. I started observing a constant HISSING noise, audiable 6 feet away from my equipment. Do not know what is causing this. I haven't tried unhooking any equipment...

I have acquired a pair of N802 and noticed that there is a very faint hissing sound emitting from the tweeter. You got to place your ear very close to realise that there is a very soft hissing sound. And it happens only to the right speaker but not the left one.

    Bluray Audio Format Confusion
    by Johnloudb
Okay, all these different audio formats have always confused me. On the back of this Jeff Beck Bluray disc "Live at Ronnie Scotts" it lists the audio format as LPCM stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS HD Master Audio.

LPCM (Lossless Pulse Code Modulation) Stereo, is...

    How to mute ground noise/hissing?
    by AwArEnEsS
I am connecting my Pc to powered speakers using a 3.5mm to 2 rca + Y splitters. I notice some hissing noise which I expected. While I am listening to music or playing video, it's mostly not noticable.

While I am playing older games, not a problem but if I start playing a resource-hungry...

Titles like The Orphanage, 3:10 to Yuma, and Dark City...all showing up 5.1. I've checked and rechecked all...
