This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
I have been reading this forum so some time but never really wrote anything but today I decided to join.
I have the 800ds and HTM1D as my three fronts and (some KEFs at the sides and back - IQ9s back, IQ8ds or IQ3 on the sides/swapping) i was thinking of adding...
I have an opportunity to trade my HTM2D for the HTM1D...I hadn't really planned to do this for some time, but if I want to make this upgrade I either make this deal or wait and buy used later on, then sell mine. Being such a big brute, I am not sure I really want to do that.
Assuming that your present front end speaker setup was: 802D (front left) - HTM2D (centre) - 802D (front right) and assuming further that the height and space factor was not an issue if you were to have an 802D for the centre, what would the best setup be from an audio quality perspective regarding...
After I replaced my 803S I found the HTM3S unbearable to listen to along side the towering Marlan headed 800D so I was forced to sell it. I desperately wanted to keep it but no amount of tweaking could appreciably circumvent the prevailing tonal smearing across the obverse sound field.
