    B&W in wall speakers

Guys, Can anyone confirm if the in-wall series from B&W are bi-wireable? (I could not fin the answer on their website) I am working on finishing my basement and right now, I am about ready to put in the speaker cables through the frames so it is important for me to make this choice. The speakers I am considering are the signture 8NTs or 7NTs and B&W CWM650 or rears.

Thanks in advance for your replies..

The Signaure 8NT and the 7NT can be bi-wired but not the CWM650's.

I use Sig7's for my center rears and they match really well to my CDM9's and 1's...

I really can't recommend the Sig8's unless you use the matrix back-box, which by themselves are almost as much as the Sig7's.

Eric, A while back on the MSRP thread you mentioned you might have the MSRP of the CWM500 and CWM650 but I don't see that posted, at least publicly. Could you kindly provide those on either thread and in addition the CWM800. Thanks!

I'll start a new thread so the mods can sticky it if they would like.

That would be great! A thread on MSRP's of the entire B&W line.

Done. I split them up so the in walls are on one and the rest of the line is on another. It was easier for me to do that because B&W has two different price books.

I am almost certain that I would like to go for the signature 7NT for my front/rear L and right - no sure what center to go for???? Will another 7NT do? should I consider CWM LCR8? CWM cinema? ohh..I am confused..maybe tomorrow morning I will call my local dealer or just call B&W and hopefully get some answer..

I would get another Signature 7NT for the center. The best systems I've heard have the same speakers across the front.

What would be the best in-wall speakers for the 800 series line?

More specifically to match with 803S fronts?

Most definitely the Sig 8's, with the back box. They're basically N804's made to go in a wall.

                            Great thanks guys!

Any info on these in-walls? It appears B&W does not give out specs or even the various models on their website.

Thanks guys for all your feedback here! I have finally decided to go with B&W CWM LCR8 for FR/C/FL and signature 7NT for RR/RL. All of them will be installed with BB. Hopefully they will sound right for the money I am throwing away!

The CWMLCR8's are really good. Your going to be very happy. I sold a system with those, and a pair of CWM800's for rears, an ASW750, and a Rotel RSX-1067 and the system sounds great. What sub and amplification are you using?

I am gonna have to use my existing pair of SVS CS-Ultra Subwoofers driven by a 1000W touring amp along with my good old (ancient) Denon AVR 5700 (140W x 5)

I still have to figure out an appropriate front projector and screen to purchase. The basement I guess would be done in about 7~8 weeks and I will surely post pics of my set-up once it is all completed. Can't wait! :-) Cheers!

Hi guys, the thread is a little old, but I do have a question regarding this topic. I will be building a new house, and have the choice of two setups:

first I can make a set up of new speakers: 3 x the B&W LCR8 for front, center and left, and back either the two CT's, or speakers in the ceiling from the BMW series (CCM 80 or comparable)...

Also, I can buy the speakers which are currently used by my supplier in his demotheatre:
3 CWM 8180's, and for the back 2 8180 DS.

both setup will be powered by a denon 4810, and Rel Strata 5.

I am a bit lost in the specs, you guys seem to know the speakers... any hints tips?

                                          Thanks,

                                          Peter

Which B&W's would match the 802D for ceiling mounted rear surround channels?

The CWMLCR8 speakers are discontinued and have been replaced with the CWM7.3. I'm not sure if B&W has any of the LCR8s left in stock. You should take a look at the new CI700 series instead of the first option.

The demos are really good speakers and if you can place them properly that would be a great sounding system. It would just come down to price at that point.

I'm looking for inwalls/ceiling to match my 805D. As there are no inwalls with Diamond tweeters wich ones would be closest to the 805D?

                                                Thank you

                                                  Thank you

The CWM7.4 uses an almost identical cross-over as the 805S (not D as they don't have diamond tweeters), so I would say currently that would be closest.

The CWM7.4 uses a soft dome tweeter. Wouldn't an aluminium tweeter in the CCM818 sound closer to the diamond tweeter?

I use CCM 817 with my 802Ds and HTM1D. I like that they don't fire directly at the floor. The back of CCM 817 is angled towards the listening area. They work better than I thought they would.

The demos are really good speakers and if you can place them properly that would be a great sounding system. It would just come down to price at that point.

The current offering is 30% off the demo speakers btw, anyone any ideas if that is realistic? I've never bought demo's...

That's a pretty good discount for demo's. They should still come with the full warranty. So this definitely gives you options.

                                                            Hope this helps.

Recently purchased an LCR600 to replace an LCR60 (now for sale).
According to B&W it depends on how long the speaker has been used as a demo.
If I remember, if on demo less than 1 year you get the full 5 year warrenty.
If demoed more than 1 year the warrentee is either 3 or maybe 4 years.
When I registered my 600 at the B&W site there was no mention of new or demo. I assume the serial# tells them how old it is.
Even at 3 years warrentee it is better than some others warrantee.
                                                              Hope this helps.

                                                              warrentee, warrenty, warrantee, warranty ?
