    FST Midrange Driver Only

Will B&W let you buy just the FST Midrange Driver under any circumstance?

Have the CM7, centre, and 1. The centre and 1 have different midranges. Thought it would be an interesting project to swap them out. It will be my first time working with the guts part and it sounds straight forward.

Not so sure that is a simple task

My FST has that big adjustment bolt at the back. You would need to accommodate that.

Also the crossover on my 804s only feeds the FST midrange info that it can handle - your midrange/woofer driver gets full range bass that would not suit the FST- that may sound bad.

It would be an interesting experiment but I would be surprised if it worked without alot of tweeking.

If I do it I will have to use the cutoff on the reciever to stop it from getting bass. If I do it I will post how it turns out. It depends on how much an FST mid costs.

150mm (6”) Kevlar cone FST midrange: Do they all run on the same frequency?
              by nick.h
              Hi,

I have noticed the 804s/803s/803d/802d/801d/800d all use the 150mm (6”) Kevlar cone FST midrange driver. Are the crossover for this all set to be the same? Do they all run in the same range?

What about the 805s the 6.5" Kevlar, what frequency does it run at?...

Question about FST midrange drive unit
              by weijst
              Hi all,

I'm a little worried about the FST midrange drive units in my demo 804's which I recently purchased and I was hoping someone out here could help me:
              1. The plug in my FST midrange is not perfectly centred / is not located in the middle of the black ring. The distance between

              FST Midrange Driver in 800D
              by nick.h
Does the 803s/803d/802D/801D/800D all use the same crossover for the FST Midrange?

Or for the 802D and up having the Sphere the crossover frequencies are different?

              FST repair/replacements
              by ert
I have a CDM9NT with a damaged midrange. The driver has a crease in it and is torn from the foam surround around the crease. Although I cannot actually hear a problem compared to the other speaker, I think I'll replace the driver in case it gets worse. Given the ease of replacing the midrange and...

Just how important is "midrange" for a movie regarding 685 vs. 683?
              by jjahshik32
Hey guys I'm just curious as I've never owned floorstand speakers before and only monitor speakers and I'm very curious on just how important midrange is in a movie?

The 685's are great but I can afford a 683 at the most and I just want to know that I'm not missing out on anything from...
