Can anyone tell me how to disable or bypass the overload protection on my speakers. One of them cuts out at a moderate volume levell. It is real annoying .

B&W does not put any overload protection in their speakers. As joetama said, it has to be something else. Have you tried switching the speaker wires at the amp and did the broblem stay with the speaker or switch to the other one? If a driver in a speaker (like a woofer or midrange) has a voice coil that is about to go bad what your experiencing can happen. As that driver moves farther in and out it can create a short that would shut your amp off.

Power Handling:
Minimum amplifier 100 watts into 8
ohms No upper limit due to automatic
protection device.
Sounds like something has finally failed. Maybe un-wise to just disconnect without some investigation. A call to B&W Support should be considered.Bruce- Bottom

by RolyasmOkay, I am looking at some amps for my subwoofer. I am using four 15" Avalanche drivers in a large box system. That is another forum. It has been recommended that I use Behringers's EP2500 amplifier, which I am happy to do, but wanted to compare some others and learn something at the same time....-

Hi Friends,
