I'm going to make a new purchase in B&W's and had the 684's in mind. I was wondering would this be a worth while upgrade?

Only your ears can say for sure, but I think this would be a very worthwhile upgrade. At least on paper, the 684s seem to have substantial improvements.

The 684 is a very big upgrade from a DM303 and would be very worth it. You're talking about going from a $300.00 US bookshelf speaker to a $1000.00 US floor standing speaker!! Even beyond the improvements in the current generation speakers, that is a big upgrade.

I want to use my 684s in a 2 channel system as I have downscaled my HT system to 685s and 686s as it is now in a smaller room.
I have the oppurtunity to trade in some of my old gear against a new 2 channel amp but the dealer only carries Rotel & Marantz.
