    B&W ASW CDM subwoofer problems

Has anyone else experienced serious problems with this sub?
Had it in for repair 4 times now, under warranty and the driver replaced. I love the tight sound, but unfortunately after a while it started to also produce very annoying rattles from inside the sub and now after about a year since it was last repaired (new driver put in) it is making metal on metal squeeking noises, very distracting and now most pleasant when the volume is on Min. or off. (as the CM2's have an excellent base down to 38Hz) This is a serious sub, and therefore the volume only needs to be 30% to less than half way to match my CM's, so I can't imagine that it's been driven too hard. Or, do these driver only have a life expectancy of 1-2 years?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated, as I'm at the end of my patience on this.

B&W ASW CDM vs ASW 750
    by dhoff01
I've read numerous posts that say these two subs are virtually identical. However, the CDM manual states that it is a vented-box, whereas the 750 is closed. Does this make a big difference, and which is more advantageous?
