    800D with Mcintosh 501's

I currently have 802D speakers. I'm thinking about upgrading to the 800D's.
Would my Mcintosh 501 amps be sufficient for the upgraded speakers?
My room is about 19 feet square and open at the rear, with 10 foot ceilings.

Depends on how far you would like to go, 501 is OK, Bi-amping with 501 is better, I got the best results with a pair of 1201's!!!

I think the 800D and 802D have the same efficiency so both should play as loud.

I know someone who uses 501's with 800N's and he's very happy, no problem. Its definitely enough power.

I've used an Pass labs X5 150w amp with 802D's without clipping, they are very efficient both 800 and 802
