    B&W and...TWISTERS

    Hi
We have had a twister siren earlier on today, while my wife and kids where running for shelter, I was thinking about my 802d and Classe gear and hoping I wont find them crushed and blown away.. . well, it ended up fine, however, it made me think what can be done to protect and minimize possible damage to my beloved gear ( except for insurance and shutting the breaker down of course). any suggestions ?

You are joking about this right? 8O If you have a twister come through your home there is nothing you can do except save your family and yourself. I wouldnt worry about whats going to happen to your stuff, no amount of protection is going to save it if a tornado comes through. We had a "small" F2 hit here two years ago, it totally wiped my wifes aunts house off the foundation, nothing was left.

I take it you have never been in one or close to one before?

Off topic, but while walking past meeting rooms at work today, (all named after one of the states)

I noticed (must have been bored) Arkansas is Kansas with AR infront of it.... (or still waking up and delerious)

And now I notice both of you are from Arkansas and Kansas City....

      Oh well, ignore me...

Have your wife and kids wrap themselves around you speakers while you run for cover. This will offer a large amount of protection for your speakers and limit cosmetic damage. Make sure you fatten them up in the off season for extra protection.

Yeah, almost done that, i put two of my kids around each 802d, I wanted to send the monoblocks to Yazdani and then remembered that he lives two blocks away, still a danger zone, so I just carried them with me to our shelter and used them as heaters ....
now seriously, we were just a hair from the center of the storm, I am relatively new to this area, so I did not know what to expect exactly, however all we got was a short burst of heavy showers and it was all gone.

The gear , waf and kids are in one piece, thank God :W

You can build some train tracks (small ones) that lead from your living room directly to a basement shelter, each track behind each 802d. Then, teach your kids to each push the 802d's down the tracks to the shelter. Then, build an audio cabinet in steel, anchored to concrete, and in case of trouble, you're responsible for locking it! :W

OR - you can just insure your set-up, and if anything is lost, you have fun buying new gear! :T

You can keep them at my house. We don't have Twisters, Floods, or Earthquakes here in New Mexico. :T

                        dmccombs,
Yeah, but those 802D beauties will melt in the heat of New Mexico Amigo !!! :W And that New Mexico sand will enter into those Diamonds, Jefe!! :W
Cryonics and cryogenics ,is what I would suggest , for the future of your 802D, to keep them safe, and in the same state, forever!! :T
Or, Give them to ALDO to hold on to ,and he would slip those 802Ds it into his 24.4 Channel system set up he tends to buy!!! ;x(
                        Cheers

                          Chinets,

New Mexico is modern enough to have AC, and we do have those new snazzy new things called "doors" to keep the sand out. That's why the State is called NEW Mexico.

But getting back to the topic, I don't know what Eliav should do aside from insuring them and listening to them as much as possible before Twister Day.

                          Regards,
                          Darrell

You could build a dedicated listening room in the basement. . .

Probably the most realistic answer to the Twister dilemma...

I found this film quite disturbing, so much so that I considered turning it off half way through, but it was so compelling that I had to continue watching it until the end.

The lead character Curtis, who is a good solid working man with a loving family, starts having terrible nightmares...

I'd have to say that its either Jurassic Park,...
