                hey, sorry to hear.

however, selfishly I gotta say that may workout in my favor! .... if RaceCarDriver picks up your 800s, and I get his 802s, we can do a 3-way deal

Yes it's very cruel but unfortunately not a joke. I will strive to keep the Mac gear for now. But my beloved 800D's have to go. Believe me when I tell you this was no hasty decision. I will have them on Ebay tonight. It surely pains me but it appears I may be relocating to a smaller home and my wife and I find ourselves in the need to simplify just a bit. She has made some real sacrifices and now it's time for me to make one. And it is a big one that's for sure.

However, all is well and I will by no means be leaving the audio community. But as most of you know, sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward. Who knows, when B&W comes out with the "new super duper 900D" I may be the first in line and all you guys will be envying me again. The 800D truly is the best sounding speaker I've ever heard. What a marvel of sound reporduction engineering.

Nothing selfish about that. Keeping them in the family would just make all this a little easier.

                      Hi Jesse,

I am hoping to buy 802ds or 800ds in the future.I guess the old saying 'better to have lost in love than never loved at all' could apply here.I am sure in the future you will replace the 800d sound, and in the right listening room,i know the 804s will give a lot of listening pleasure.900ds sound interesting!!

                        Jesse,

ps. i am in the fortunate position of having the room, and being able to afford 800ds now. But,like you,i have to put my wife first...She wants a new kitchen and bathroom, and apparently this is more important...I reckon my life is better for having my wife, than being on my own with Nautilus etc..

                          You're a good man, Jesse.
Sometimes in life things happen and the sensible thing to do is hunker down & do the pragmatic thing. Too many times one comes accross folk who don't. Great to have someone like you in the club.

Ouch, painful...sorry dude. But, in time I'm sure you'll get back on the bandwagon. What are you going to replace them with? Not that it will matter because anything after this must be like listening to an Ipod! Just curios.

When I read all the responses of support in this thread I must say I was truly moved. So much so that I had my wife read them and her previous view of us as a bunch of audio nerds has changed a bit. You guys made it obvious that we are mature men first, B&W lovers second (but a very close second indeed :W).

Owning B&W gear, like Harley Davidson's, McIntosh gear and Corvettes just to name a few, truly puts you in a brotherhood that is unique. We know we are part of a long heritage as well as some of the best speakers ever made on planet earth.

Thank you fellas for the support. As you all know anything will pale in comparison to the 800D. I will use the 800D as a reference point but I'm not going to try and compete or compare a lesser speaker to it. I'm considering perhaps a pair of 804's but I also may be able to get my hands on a pair of Newform Research 645v3. It's an interesting speaker and can get them for less than 3K. But for now I have a pair of old Yamaha's that I used to use in my weight lifting room. They'll do for now. Mac gear can get the best out of anything, even $400 a pair Yamaha speakers.

Until I get back on my feet, I'll be checking in on the forum and living vicariously through you guys. So keep upgrading and enjoy the music. Life is good. :T

The love you are getting and all the support you have on this forum and at your home is a blessing in disguise my dear friend.

When my Dad moved from across the pond to Canada he had to sell his much-loved system. Family matters took precedence post move so it took him a long time afterwards to rebuild it, but today he's got a great system featuring 801 as the mains.

It's a tough thing to do Jesse, but you're doing it all for the right reasons. Have faith that in time, you will get those 900D that will put Aldo's Nautilus to shame. :T

Sorry about that Doug, the whole thing has been rather depressing. Go ahead and close this thread if you like. I should have given that some thought. I really just needed to move them quickly. I appologize. May I make a donation to HTguide somewhere? ops:

                                                        Jessee,
Sometimes, you need to give up some things in your life in order to gain something else (think about it like this: you are giving up 800s today, but will have Snails in few years).

You certainly have my condolences, Jesse.

Here's a thought for you to ponder.

"I must do something" will always solve more problems than "something
                                                          must be done."

                                                          Peace and blessings,
