Aldo,
There's nothing to say about your setup that hasn't already been said. ...amazing! Just curious, sorry if you've posted before. What are your room dimensions?- Bottom

It looks so surreal... like I'm seeing it, but I just cant believe it. This is the first time I have seen a Nautilus in someone's home, not at a dealership or a show.
Looks absolutely mind-blowing!
As stunned as I am, I dont want to hear it, because I want to keep the mystique alive! Kinda like a car... once you own an M3, it becomes blase.... and if you own a Lambo, I'm guessing it might lose some of its mystiqueness.
Dont mind me, I'm just rambling.....
I look forward to more pics (MORE MORE!!!!) and impressions!!!
Sorry for my sheer joy. I get excited over these things.

NO, you can check that on their webpage, there are no plans for that, but if they do discontinued the Nautilus, I'll be very happy because they only made 300pairs so far and that would make them an special, collectible item!Originally posted by ejuanpimanWell i called my dealer today to ask to see if they currently have any pair of nautilus and they said that these have been discontinued, is this true?- Bottom

Aldo, I can only second, third, forth, fifth... (you get the picture) what others have already said. The system you are building is nothing short of AMAZING. I didn't think it would be possible to appreciate another pair of speakers as much as I do the 800D that I own but looking at those Nautilus flank your room makes me wonder.
I can't help but lust over the sheer magnitude of engineering prowess that B&W put into their development and coupling that power with the grace and beauty of their skins. You indeed have reached a new pinnacle in high performance audio. Splendid work my friend!
P.S. The Classe' gear looks to be a perfect match visually speaking. Looking forward to your impressions of how they sound with your Nautilus.

I know that my system need alot of work, specially on room treatment and space (size), I will soon move to another "bigger" apartment so I don't want to spend money on this one.
But I will do my best to give you all a good review on their sound considering my foulty room!- Bottom

Some questions :
1- i dont see any room treatment. Is it on the to do list ?
2- The rears 802D as so close to your seating. Are they really in use ?
3- It must be difficult to tame all the bass that it probably comming out of this system. How do you do it ?- Bottom

Shameless self-promotion, Aldo.
lol.... congratulations though. That is an amazing system. I hope it was all paid for in cash. I would be embarrassed to have a $100k loan for a stereo. :BB&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

2.- They are close, but I get them closer for the picture!
3.- If someone have a 7,1 system all with 802D, do you think he or she is worry about having 15 bass drivers, 7 misd and 7 tweeters?
Instead of having one sub set at 2 o'clock volume if you put 2 or 3 or even 4 set at 9 o'clock you get a well distributed, less cancelated (If you place them right) bass than with just one.
That's why more and more processors are getting extra sub outputs!
The two front subs are for stereo, and the back ones are for LFE.- Bottom

You are right!Originally posted by PavelLAldo, how'bout B&W recommended 500W min amp for the LF section of the Nautili? You've chosen a pair of stereo 200W/channel Classe amps...
But there are a lot of contradiction in these:
1.- ALL amps must be identical.
2.- The Manual said: Each amplifier (channel) should be capable of delivering at least 30V RMS into 6 ohms for realistic levels of reproduction. Most amplifiers capable of delivering 100 watts into 6 ohms should be suitable.
3.- The only way to do these is getting 8 CAM400, where could I park 8 of that one?
4.- There are another complications, if I want to put just 400watts to the bass and 200 to the other drivers.
-The amps have to be close to the speaker becuase of the suplied seaker
cable.
-Se the drawings!- Bottom

The Nautilus came with a 3mt sylver coted cable that is not detachable from the speaker.Originally posted by PavelLHmmm go figure it out
but I think ALL your amps' GAIN should be identical.. How come the supplied cable is too short?!?!? Are you sure you did everything right?
Almost every speaker is about 2,6 mts from each other and the speaker cables does not reach the amps on the other side.
All cables for all drivers on each speaker are in the same jacket with a 1mt left for the amp hook!
The only way I could think of is to buy 4 monoblocks for the BASS drivers and the Mid drivers, and keep 2 CA 2200 for the upper mid and tweeters!
My dealer offered me to change 2 CA2200 to 2 CAM400 if I also bought another 2 CAM400.
But I will need aprox another 10K
I will audition the speakers this weekend and determine if I need those extra watts!Last edited by Aldo; 16 February 2007, 16:16 Friday.- Bottom
