    Physical size of B&W speakers

We have all read articles and spec sheets on our respective or perspective B & W speakers, however, was anyone amazed by the physical size of the speaker when you finally viewed it for audition. This whole issue sunk in for me the other day when I was listening (and subsequently purchased) to a pair of 703's and next to them in the lobby area were pairs of 803's and 802's. Not that they are huge but they are physically imposing. Any thoughts.

I found the 803D larger and more imposing than the 802D for some reason.
The mass and pricing also seem to increase at the same exponential rate.

If they ever make a 900D I might just have to move it with a crane and then build my house around it. 8O

I can relate to the age thing; after using a 22" lcd for half a year now, even side glancing at some of the 15's in my office make me feel like I'm blind in one eye.

I concur but I attribute this to the optical illusion of the black Marlan head, the recessed tube loaded tweeter and sloped cabinet. As long as you are looking at them straight on your mind will remain convinced of it.

i dont think B&W's are all that large compared to some of the other high end companies. just look at the size of some of the dynaudio, wilson and martin logans. one thing about B&W is that they dont make tall speakers.

I went to a store a while ago to demo some Paradigm Phantoms, the guy didn't even offer me a chair. I left and never went back.

EDIT: After I posted the above, I realized it had nothing to do with the thread, sorry about that. If a mod want's to delete this post, by all means.

I had both Klipschorns and Klipsch Bells before my N801's. The N801's seem small to me.

How do they compare soundwise to the Klipsch's then?

It isn't the size of the ship that counts, but the motion in the ocean ,and those B&W do give a lot of motion!!!
Size does not matter here!! LOL!!! JUST ENJOY!!

It's only the size of the soundstage that matters.
