    Need clarification 801F

    Greetings from a newbie:

I purchased (new) in 1982 my B & W 801F's; at least that what their original shipping boxes (which I still have) state. On rear of the speakers however, the nameplate states 801 Series 80 (no F). Same speaker? Borrowed shipping boxes?
After 20+ yrs. of happy listening but with under-powered equipement, I upgraded electronics to a MF Trivista 300 Integrated, added new interconnects and speaker cable (Audience Au24, Purist Audio) and can hear more and better of the music I thought I knew. Now I am thinking maybe Northcreek X-overs but I need input before I throw $2K+. I understand they are seperate boxes; do I have to do any wiring? (no talent in that realm). Is there another option for improving the music? Opinions, please.

        801 SII vs Nautilus 802
        by heathmanw5
Hello I am thinking of upgrading my 801 SII speakers either by purchasing Northcreek crossovers or by looking for a set of Nautilus 802's and I would like to hear from those with experience with these products. I have been pretty happy with my 801's for the last 13 years, except the mid/treble is a...

        Tighten topbox on Matrix 801?
        by Joawen
I just discovered that the boxes with mid/tweeter on my Matrix 801 series3 are loose, on my 802's it's possible to angle them in/out but they are really tight back/forward, up/down.

How are the boxes on top fastenend, is there a way to tighten up the thing holding the boxes so it moves...

Xovers and speakers: mount apart from eachother?
        by NoDestiny
Im getting ready to slap my Xovers in my boxes and something I had never thought about... do you want to keep the Xovers at a specific distance or orientation from the speakers, due to the inductors and voice coil? (similar to what was found here... http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/coils.htm)

        802, 801 and 800 caster/spike/feet question?
        by William
Wondering what people do for feet on their 802, 801 or 800 speakers. I just got a pair of 802's a couple of weeks ago. My dealer ordered the spike/feet sets and I got them yesterday. He said they are extra (no cost to me) and don't come with the speakers (seems strange). To my surprise they actually...

        Matrix 801 series 2 with(out)? extern filter
        by JürgenW
Yesterday I bought two of these speakers. Part of the speakers is an external filter that especially should be used in small rooms. (See e.g. a review of Stereophile in 1987.)
My room is small: 3 m in the direction of the boxes (but it is high: 3,6m and rather long: 8m).
        I find that the...
