Scratches in the marlan head

hello, 4 days ago, I got my brand new B&W nautilus 800D. today I found some fine scratches in the marlan head. does anybody know, how to polish it, without making it worser? is there a special polish for it?

There is a 'plastic' polish made by Mother's and one made by Meguiars to use on plastic convertible windows to remove scratches. You might give those a try or possibly a polish/scratch remover used on car paints.

I had the same problem with my 800D's.My dealer sended a PM to B&W and they sended me some polish, terrific stuff!! All gone :T

:scratchhead: Scratches on the Marlan Head is best dealt with B&W ,as they have a liquid solvent that blends in and removes the scratches immediately and permanently. I had that problem, and B&W sent me this polish, and voila all Vanished. :T I was very very happy with results
The Meguiar solution is also used for those scratches, but not as good as that B&W magic potion! ;x(

Meguiars Plast-X plastic polish also works great at removing fine scratches.

4 day old speakers should not have scratches. Glad to hear that B&W is taking care of you.
If you made the scratches and the speakers were old I'd try the after market stuff,
but you are probably much better off waiting till you get the b&w solution. It is probably made just for this type of problem - it is good to know they have such a thing in case I can afford marlin heads one day - I suspect fine scratches are a problem - be careful how you remove dust in the future, you might make more little scratches.

So, how do you like your new speakers?

Just for interest, I use an Ostrich feather duster to remove any dust that may settle on the marlan heads of my 800a and 802s.

Wouldn't dream of using anything like a cloth duster - it is amazing how abrasive dust can be on such a material.
