Wich one is better: Chateau Lafite, Chateau Petrus or Vega Sicilia?
Ferrari Enzo, Porsche 911 Turbo or Lamborghini Murcielago?
    You are getting nowhere!
There is no such thing, there are only preferences and tastes!
Mark Levinson 33H, Sonus Faber, Wilson Audio and many other brands like these have products that in the ears of other people could beat both!
Just listen and make your own decision!
I own 802D and krell FPB700cx and I do not think they are the BEST in the world I just like them a lot! :T

It is a matter of personal taste my friend!!!

I would say Sanyo, Sony, Samsung, Onkyo and forgot the best Bose!!!

Speakers: I would say Peavey speakers for crowd control!! :E ops:

Seriously NOW, it is all a matter of taste, and if you can tell the difference between one high end amp and another. I personally hear very little difference between one Amp and onother in the top end category. :W

Some may sound more smoother or warmer and some sound more Dynamic and Forward ,but the listening satisfaction will always be there. The Forward Dynamic Amps like Krell ,which I personally own are great for HT and Fast up beat Music ;x( ,and Classe In my opinion, is warm and smooth and is Super for Music such as Jazz and classical Music. They both would perform both duties for HT and Music equally IMHO, but having very subtle differences would not be correct for me to say which Amp is the best in the world. Different Amp's sound different to different people ,and some perform duties for HT better than the ones who perform Better at Music duty ,so all I can say is let your ears make that judgement, and that would be the best Amp for you in the world!! :T

          My 2 cents,

Good Luck with Guiness book of Records!!! :E

          Cheers!!

              HI Sub,
I know it seems like we are having fun with you. Please don't take it personally. It's just that your question does not have an answer that any of us can come up with. We are trying to figure out if you are serious.

But, I do think it is an interesting question from an intellectual point of view. How would anyone determine which is the best? Think of the logistical problems of listening to all the contenders using compatable components with EACH amp, listening rooms that complement the amp and components, and the time to evaluate. Even finding the contenders is not easy (impossible?).

The experts and high end reviewers don't agree and they are in the best position to know.

You say that Krell is the best to you. Well, I own Krell and I don't think it is the best. It fits my needs. The best I can say is this. I like the Krell sound. Physically and electronically, Krell fits into my system. I more or less like the looks. Krell was the best I could do wihin the limitations of the amps I had available to audition.

Is it the best? Not for me. Within 20 fet of my Krell based HT system is my main system which is built around Audio Research tube equipment. It's better. Is it the best. I seriously doubt it.

You have asked a question that has no reasonable answer. I hope you are serious then I won't feel like I have wasted my time writing this post.

All of you are wrong. Clearly the worlds finest amp is the ;x( Sonic Impact T-Amp.

However, the 800D's are pretty power hungry, so I would spend the extra $39 to get 2 and bi-amp.

I guess if the reviewers over at Transworld Surf Magazine, and Penthouse give it high marks then it must be good.

The hard part is finding an authorized dealer. My Wal-Mart didn't carry the T-Amp. I had to go to one of those snooty boutique dealers (Target) to see one.

The best amp in the world is whatever amp I have in my system at the time. So right now its the Pass Labs XA160 monoblocks (that is until I upgrade again in the not so distant future)...

Per one of stereophile magazine reviewers, the Halcro dm58 is the 'best power amplifier ever", I know that Halcro came with even better ones,dm88 if I am not mistaken, ( ~ 40k per pair), man, I would love to audition these guys !!!
still in love though with my own ones.... :W

One power beast which is probably up there with the best is the Krell Master Reference Amplifier (MRA). The specsheet states: "exceeding 1 000 w into 8 ohms, 2 000 w into 4 ohms, 4 000 w into 2 ohms, 8 000 w into 1 ohm, and 16 000 w into .5 ohm."

The phrase which comes to mind regarding this amp: "Can drive anything, can fly anything ... gotta grab the ammo, pizzas & get the hell outta here, this place is crawlin' with bose!"

It sure is nice to dream about those amps, my top five pics would be
                                                  Krell Evolution
                                                  Halcro
                                                  Mark Levinson
                                                  Macintosh
                                                  Classe
I think if you paired any of these amps with ie; Wilson,B&W,Dali,Focal,Sonus Faber, you will probably get the results your'e looking for. I am in no way bias towards any other makes or models of any equipment, but its always fun to have a dream system and these model's would be a part of it. Just checked the lotto numbers and, I'll just keep on dreaming !!

I read a review in Stereophile of the Levinson 33H amps. They were compared very closely to the Krell FSB 600's. Anyone here have experience with these amps?

                                                    Thanks,

Okay, here's some basic assumptions on the minimum type of HT setup.

                                                    1. Have 5 speakers. I know some don't but if you want the full HT exeperience get those speakers.

                                                    3. Have a receiver that decodes...
