There are other speaker manufacturers that make more expensive bookshelf speakers. The most expensive, I think, is the Wilson Duette which is US$10,000/pair. Other manufacturers that make expensive (>US$2,000/pair) bookshelf speakers are RBH/Status Acoustics, PSB, Canton, Dynaudio, et al.In the end, let YOUR ears and YOUR wallet be your guide.- Bottom

I agree, not many in that range. I like the SF Guarnaris myself...Originally posted by RolexThere are many, many better speakers than the 805S. Now, if you want a speaker that is better but still at 2500 dollars retail, then you may not find better, it's all personal preference.Danish- Bottom

Actually the Duette is 11K USD.... Without stands. The top of the line I'm aware of is the Magico Mini. A cool 22K USD.....Originally posted by peratoThere are other speaker manufacturers that make more expensive bookshelf speakers. Using the impressive Scan Speak 7100 tweeter.
Totally different league than the 805S. Which is a very good speaker for the money.- Bottom

by AlanBI am a new owner of the 805S's and the dedicated stands which look superb. The sound I am achieving is awesome in my small 12'6" x 10'6" room. :T I have scaled down to these from SF Electa Amators, SF Guarneri Homage and JM Lab 927Be's. The 805's do a better job than all three of these....-

"Pro - B&W's latest 805S goes several steps beyond its predecessor. This delightful little speaker makes you want to tap your feet and sing along.

by KarmaHI All,
I’m in the midst of an experiment. The HT system I am currently putting together is for my bedroom. It’s now mostly finished and I must say it sounds very good. Here is the essence of the experiment.
Can I use a good bookshelf speaker (the 805S) and a good subwoofer...-
