I am about to upgrade to a classe CA-2100. I have 805S's and was considering upgrading to 804S's. Do you think this is a significant enough upgrade, or should I just wait and throw my 805's to the back and get 803D's in the future?
805S to 804S??

I agree. I went from the 805S to the 804S then to the 802D (hopefully i am done!). Yes, the upgrade from the 805 to the 804 is an improvement. However, I dont think its enough to make you really happy about it. As photoman said, I say wait until you can do a big jump to the 803 or 802. The difference will be so much more and psychologically you will feel more justified with the upgrade.- Bottom

Just to be contrary, I'll suggest you get the 804 now and replace your 601 with the 805.
The 804 gets you the fst midrange driver, and better bass. If you listen to 2 channel music these might be worthwhile to you.
There is no right answer to your question. It depends on how you use your system,
what, if any, weaknesses you think it has, and where you want to ultimately end up.
In the end, and you probably already know this, you have to go listen to the options,
figure out when you might have money enough to upgrade again, and decide for yourself. You might find that upgrading the amp is all you need for now, or, you might decide you want full range front speakers now so you can listen to music without needing a subwoofer. Or, you might change your mind . . .- Bottom
