I am just about ready to purchase some new Home Theater speakers and have been wanting a set of B&W speakers for quite some time but due to my budget constraints I have been strongly considering 4 DM303's, LCR3, and a ASW 300 sub but from what I have read you really need to be in the 600 series to really experience what B&W has to offer. I can probably stretch my budget a bit and go for 4 DM600 S3's, LCR60, and a ASW 600 sub but is the 600 series really worth the extra bucks? I will primarily be using them to watch movies (in a 14' x 14' room), will these speakers (300 or 600) be sufficient for this or should I be looking at something else (non-B&W) entirely that fits my needs and budget (I figure just about anything in this range will sound better than my current Sony SS-MF &MB's)?

Man I give the B&W 300 series a very high recommendation. Currently I have a pair of DM 303's and the ASW 300 sub. I'm on a small budget as you are. The DM 303's sound great, and the sub....WOW. Sure the sub is only an 8in, but man this sub is better than almost any sub I have heard even 12's. I'm currently saving for another pair of DM 303's and the LCR 3. I give it a on a scale from 1-10 ann 11.

RH, How does your DM303's perform for movies? Whatever speakers I decide to get they will be used for 100% Movies. Also what kind of receiver are you using to drive the speakers? I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-21 that I really don't want to replace but it only outputs about 80 watts per channel, Do you think this will be sufficient? I was also toying with the idea with just buying two speakers (Possibly 705's) and building up the Home Theater over 3 years (living with a Sony/B&W hybrid system in the interim) but from what I read you need at least 120 watts to drive the 705's so I may just be better off getting the DM303's for now and then maybe upgrading to something better in a couple of years when I have a bigger budget.- Bottom

Currently I'm running a Yamaha RX-V530 (75x5 and 95x2 at 8ohms). These speakers are perfect for home theater. The speakers are highly efficient, yes they say that they are only rated at 88db, but that can not be right. My last speakers I had were 91db and the 303's are by far louder. These will be perfect for the size of room you have, my room is 11ft x 13ft and they sound great at any volume. I give a strong 11 on a scale of 1-10. ( "Um yes, but are amps go to aleven")

I'm currently in the market for my surround speakers, the last piece to my audio puzzle (for the time being any way). My current set up is DM601 s3's for my fronts, an LCR 60 for center and an SVS PB10-ISD sub. I'm on a really fixed budget and was initially looking at getting some...-

I need speakers for that little combo to listen some music in dinning/living room (separate HT is in the basement)…
I was thinking at a B&W DM303/ASW300 sub-sat combo for that set up…

by BlazeMasterAs title says it all, which should I go with to use as rear surrounds? I have the Denon 2805 which is compatible with DPLIIx and will be using the DS6 as side surrounds for sure at about 2 feet above ear level when sitting down. The saving of $$ by going to DM600 can apply to my upgrade of fronts...-
